Teheran, successfully concluded the Iran-Italy Science, Technology and Innovation Forum
The Iran-Italy Science, Technology and Innovation Forum, which took place on 19 and 20 April 2017, was successfully concluded in Tehran. The Forum is the largest European event devoted to the internationalization of research and innovation systems and represents also the platform for boosting economic and cultural exchanges between Italy and Iran.
Following the inaugural ceremony, the Italian Minister of Education, University and Research, Valeria Fedeli, and the Iranian Minister of Science, Research and Technology, Mohammad Farhadi, signed a joint statement to implement the collaboration already begun between Italy and Iran in Science and Technology sector, further strengthening institutional synergy through the participation of science parks and technologists, clusters and new initiatives such as the fablabs that took part in the Forum.
The inaugural day has also been featured by 8 thematic seminars including a session dedicated to Innovation Policies with the Iranian Vice-Minister for Research and Technology, Vahid Amadi, Innovation, Startup and Internationalization Advisor of the Campania Region, Valeria Fascione, and the Development Counselor of the Lazio Region, Guido Fabiani. Among the topics discussed : energy, biomedicine, agro-food, environmental technologies and ICT, including a specific focus on cultural heritage technologies, a strategic focus for two countries such as Iran and Italy, rich in historical, archaeological and cultural testimonies.
The schedule of one-to-one meetings has been also very dense. Over 400 business meetings between Italian and Iranian researchers and entrepreneurs to deepen the hypothesis of joint research projects, transfer of new technologies and innovative products between research institutions and innovative Iranian and Italian companies.
Work has registered more than 600 participants between Italian and Iranian delegates. Finally, the first day ended with the presence of Vice-Minister Vahid Amadi. Kosro Piri, Director of Technology Affairs of the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, and the main actor in organizing and promoting the Forum, has brought his greeting to participants.
On the second day of the Forum, however, there was a series of visits to important Iranian scientific and technological realities including the Medical Research Center of Shahid Beheshti University, which hosted the Forum, Iran FabLab, inside Pardis Science and Technology Park, and Sharif University, a prestigious Iranian Polytechnic.
SMS Engineering successfully participated to The Iran-Italy Science, Technology and Innovation Forum, which took place on 19 and 20 April 2017 in Tehran. SMS Engineering was present at the event through its Iranian partner EUFOUR, represented by Dr. Filippo Perta.
Several Iranian companies scheduled one-to-one meetings with SMS Engineering since particularly interested in getting more information on the Software Solutions presented by SMS Engineering during the event : AQUIS and myWMS JIS. To all of them, it was clear the benefits of having such software solutions.
AQUIS (Aeronautic Quality Improvement System) would allow Iranian small and medium-sized manufacturing industries that do not yet operate in Europe to become automatically compliant with the product quality standards required by the European large manufacturing industries and the Automotive, Aviation and Aerospace Industry.
myWMS JIS (Warehouse Management System with Just in Sequence logic) would allow Iranian small and medium-sized manufacturing industries that do not yet operate in Europe to become automatically compliant with the logistics standards of European large manufacturing industries and the Automotive Industry that use the JIS logic.
Just with Sharif University, which each year sees many talented engineers graduating, the Councilor Fascione and the General Secretary of the City of Science, Vincenzo Lipardi, came into contact to develop joint projects in favor of start-ups and business acceleration, in synergy with the new certified incubator Campania NewSteel, created by the partnership between the University of Naples “Federico II” and the City of Science. Finally, a delegation composed of organizations active in the marine and maritime sectors, led by the delegates of the City of Science, was received by representatives of the Office of Science and Technology of the Vice Presidency of the Iranian Republic in order to meet a group of institutes and industry companies and build a network of cooperation for the future.
